I'm currently competing in Europe and the USA, the summers racing circuit has led me to the meditereeanan for some truly great regatta's. Marseille Algers Cup and Sotogrande Regatta to name a few. I've been lucky enough to race with the crew on Hetairos for the Maxi Worlds and Voile du St Tropez. For me it's a wonderful opportunity to sail on such a boat and with such a legendary crew.
Sailing is a sport that rewards experience and the opportunity to learn is better than ever and all the lessons put me in good stead for the future
My focus is now firmly planted on the Figaro next year, I'm now fully into the search to find a sponsor for next year. I feel confident that the project will appeal to the right person. Everything I learnt from 2007 means that I'm in a much better position in terms of performance and to give a real return on investment for partners of the campaign.
Sailing in general is changing dramatically in the UK. At the Olympics in Beijing sailing was Britain's 2nd most successful sport after cycling. The up coming Vendee Globe in November will feature seven British entries in an event which up until recently has been very French dominanted. So the tide is definitely turning if you pardon the pun.
